Invisible, Haunting - PARASOL
There is a scent of Weir's Picnic at Hanging Rock and a slight aftertaste of Irena's hurried steps in the night of a New York, suffocated by fog. To really describe this moody debut short by Uli Anders, to fully understand what you'll be facing over and over again watching this film, you definitely have to understand what Tourneur and Weir were all about. There is a presence in the world. A fluid, fear-inducing being. You won't see it, but you'll feel it. Like Peter and Jacques once felt it. And watching the credits you'll know that there is nothing and everything to run from, but you won't be alone. Peter and Jacques will be by your side, and Uli will. Like every other, nameless soul from all over the world, they'll be running from nothing we can see, but something we all know of.
